Photography as Ritual: Nicole Meldahl in conversation with Rob Brodman, Christine Huhn, Jeff Masamori, and Danica Taylor.Join along as local historienne Nicole Meldahl explores "Photography as Ritual" through a conversation with four local photographers. What does photography have in common with ritual? Nicole's hypothesis is: Time. All three facets of photography–from creating a photograph, experiencing an image, and preserving it in an archive–include an incredible amount of reverence: a devotion to taking, seeing, and keeping. The essential elements in Ritual are also reverence and Time. We'll see how all these elements interact through the lenses of our featured photographers in a conversation guided by the Patron Saint of Photography: Susan Sontag. |
