Touching the intangible: a collaborative drawing exercise
led by Sofia Belen

Rituals, like art, help us reach toward the intangible. What happens to our experiences and practices when we place limits and remove rationality? How can we translate something that can only be felt or experienced into a physical process? Touching the Intangible helps you release creative baggage alongside another person while listening to music.

12 — 12:30pm

Collaborative movement performance
led by Tamara Chu & friends

using the drawings from Touching the Intangible as source material, Tamara will guide collaborators through a movement performance.

Volunteers needed!

12:30 — 1:15pm

Ambient DJ set by Kia Kimera

Round out the morning session with an ambient DJ set while you quietly reflect, journal, or any other quiet practice you enjoy.

Light refreshments (pastries, coffee, more tea, etc...) will be available

1 — 2pm Lunch hour: read, eat, reflect

bring your lunch and enjoy the final bits of Kia Kimera's ambient set.
pick out a book from our library (or bring your own!) to read, explore your TMI packet, or socialize with others.

We will have light refreshments and N/A beverages for all ticket holders.

If language is a ritual passed down, what are we missing because of the rules, standards, and expectations of language? What is missing from our language? Is it possible to express the truth? What parts of reality have no synonyms? If we can't get at these experiences in writing, what must we do?

Dinner will be provided by John Lindsey, proprietor of The Great Highway gallery and the soon-to-open Rusty Ladle.

John will also talk with us about soup, art, and how things come together to become greater than the sum of their parts.

Educational Television screening

Round out the evening with a trio of short films that explore time. How do our bodies keep time? How do we synchronize with nature? And how do we work with the mechanics of time?

These films will be presented by Joshua Mendez Valdez and are part of Educational Television. Learn more during the presentation!
